Erica Kirby
Director of Children's & Weekday Ministries
Erica Kirby is Central's Director of Children’s and Weekday Ministries. Her passion is helping children grow and learn.
Since 2006 she has worked in Early Childhood Education with children birth-5th grade. Erica was raised in downtown Monroe
until her family moved to Marshville when she started high school. She graduated from Forest Hills High School
and has a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies. Erica is married with 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters.
Her hobbies include spending time with her family, watching Hallmark movies and reading.
Erica has been at Central since 2020. She started as and still serves as the Director of Weekday Children’s Ministries,
our NC Pre-K mission of the Church. She is excited to help children grow spiritually and build their relationship with God.
Her favorite ways to teach scripture and Bible stories is through Bible discovery lessons, crafts, and games.
As a child, her mother served as a Sunday School teacher at her church and Erica remembers helping her plan lessons
and set up activities. She believes that children learn best through hands-on activities.
As an educator, Erica feels that children need a foundation for their faith. It is important that children learn they have
a church family, and for them to know how to build their relationship with God, Each Other and the Community.
As a member of the missions team, Erica strives to seek ways for the children to be active in many roles throughout the church.
Erica’s favorite events at Central are Vacation Bible School (VBS), the Community Consignment Sale and
the Community-Wide Trunk or Treat. These are all events where we get to connect with our community.
God is love and she hopes that, as a church family, we are able to share that truth with each other and our community.
The children are the future of our church so let’s connect with them and help them find their place at Central.
