Confirmation
Confirmation is a significant step in a young person’s faith journey and an opportunity to claim for themselves the grace first experienced in baptism. While baptism celebrates what God has done and will do, confirmation allows youth to respond with their own “yes” to God’s call. Through study, prayer, service, and community, confirmands explore the foundations of Christian faith and the meaning of discipleship in the United Methodist tradition. At the conclusion of the process, they publicly affirm their faith and become full members of the church. Confirmation is typically offered once a year to youth in middle school and culminates in a special service of celebration during worship.
