Michael Lanny Lancaster

Senior Pastor –

I am honored to serve Jesus with the great folks at Central UMC as we CONNECT WITH GOD, EACH OTHER, AND OUR COMMUNITY! My special interests in ministry are preaching, spiritual formation and direction, and helping God’s people live deeper into the reality of God’s Love. I have served as a mentor, spiritual director, and retreat leader for pastors and others.

I am a native of Greensboro, NC, graduate of High Point University (B.A. Psychology), Duke Divinity School (M.Div.), and Centerquest School of Spiritual Direction. I am an ordained Elder in the Western NC Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and have served in pastoral ministry since 1997. 

I am blessed to be married to Janet (my college sweetheart), a gifted and award-winning high school history teacher, and proud to be the father of Noah and Jacob. I find the joy of God in Creation on hiking trails, riding waves, kayaking rivers, and writing poetry.
