Ongoing Opportunities for Connection

September Shareback: Chalk It Up to Love

On September 16th, we held our first 2025-2026 Chalk It Up 2 Love distribution day.  Because of the generous support of this congregation, we served over 48 teachers in our Title 1 neighborhood schools.  We put 725 books in the hands of our students and were able to provide $6,150.00 in school supplies and books to teachers in those schools.  What a glorious way to start off our school year!

I want to introduce you to one of our teacher-partners at Monroe High School .  Ms Hope Cruit is a social studies teacher.  A couple of years ago she began to offer to deliver the supplies the teachers from Monroe High ordered from the program.  Every month she faithfully picks up the packed orders and delivers them to her colleagues. In the past, she enlisted help from EC students to help deliver the supplies to the teachers.  What a great way to teach community service!   Thank you, Hope Cruit! She serves as a shining example of the caring teachers that serve in our schools.

This is our last week for this month’s Shareback,  Chalk It Up to Love, a school supply collection and distribution that helps local Title One schools start the year strong. Your donations will go directly to students and teachers who need a little extra support to kick off the school year. Let’s come together to make a difference in our community and show a little love through something as simple as a box of pencils or a pack of notebooks. Collection bins are located in the narthex and at the shareback table (next to the Choir Room). Thank you for giving generously!
