Why Do We Give to the Local Church?
“The earth is the LORD’S and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it…”
As Christ’s followers, we believe that we are stewards of God’s resources because He is the owner of all that we have. Throughout scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back a portion of what God has so generously provided. His Word tells us that giving is an act of worship that should be done with a spirit of thanksgiving.
“But just as you excel in everything, in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us. See that you also excel in this grace of giving.”
2 Cor. 8:7 (NIV)
How Do We Give?
At Central United Methodist Church, we have several ways that you can give to God’s work through your tithes and offerings. You can give by check or cash on Sundays, or you can mail or drop off a check to our offices. You may also choose to use our website or the online bill pay service provided by your bank.
Log onto the interactive portion of our website where you can donate to our ministry using our secure server. Using this system you may donate using your checking account, use your debit account, or use your credit card.
A number of people in our congregation give online by using the free bill pay services provided by their bank. After setting up with your financial institution they will send us a check under your name. Your check will be treated the same as it would had it been dropped in the Sunday offering.
