Central Kids

Central Kids, the Children’s Ministry of Central, is a safe place where all children, birth through grade 5 feel comfortable to be themselves and are excited to be in Christian community with each other. Our goal is to offer opportunities for every child to connect with God, their community, and with each other. We are a Safe Sanctuaries community.

OPPORTUNITIES

Children’s Messages – These small, yet powerful messages follow the scripture and sermon theme for the week and are led by willing individuals during the 8:45am Contemporary Service.

Acolytes – Bringing the light of Christ into worship is a privilege and an honor. Central Kids have the opportunity to acolyte each Sunday during the Contemporary Service as well as in other special services throughout the year.

Kids own Worship – After the Children’s Message during the 8:45 Contemporary Service. This worship service just for kids includes Children’s Message follow-up, scripture, music and prayer time. Open play is always a part of Kids own Worship – it allows children the opportunity to simply be themselves in a Christian environment.  Plus, a little down time is always a good thing before Sunday School.

Sunday School –   We have seperate classrooms for the nursery, preschool and a one-room Sunday school program for Kindergarten – 5th graders.

Kids at Play Events – Monthly event parent’s time out opportunities – event examples: Praying with Pumpkins, Thankful Turkeys, Colors of Faith Tye Dye Party, Pancakes & Pajamas, Water Fun and More.  Check our calendar for upcoming events.

Vacation Bible School – For 1-week during the June children are invited for an evening of music, crafts, bible stories, games and more. This is always a favorite time for our kids. Volunteers are always needed to lead small groups, stations and large group time. Save the Date for VBS 2025! June 23-26 (Monday-Thursday)

Worship Childcare – Nursery, toddler and preschool care are always available. We encourage all school-aged children to remain in worship unless a Kids Worship opportunity is provided.  Care is also available for school-aged children when staying in service is not realistic.

Childcare – Childcare is available during funerals, weddings and other events when approved and scheduled in advance.

Jr. Youth – Program for rising 5th Graders to help bridge the gap to Central Youth. Contact Erica for more information!
